Garde & Eames - Bricks LP [Free Download]

Via sub|division:
Bricks is packed with gritty warehouse damage, seething 4/4 dance music built for 3am dancefloors. Garde & Eames have been working on this album for much of the second half of 2011, the result of some late night sessions with some analog toys. A few of these tunes popped up on their Futureproofing mix for Andrew Ryce a couple months back, most notably the unrelenting “Hardchop” & the astral groove of “Ghostjackin”. Now we finally have the whole batch to enjoy, plus a lush pdf of pics to accompany said heat...

Much Respect

Big ups everyone that came out for the Downlink show at Sugar Nightclub last Saturday! I haven't had that much fun playing a set in a long time. Really stoked to see everyone feelin' the post-dubstep, funky, and juke sounds - especially the juke sounds! I ain't got no shoes on! Also a big ups to Jon Outsider, Downlink from Rottun Recordings, Lars from Innergroove, Longwalkshortdock, Mite from Embassy Recordings, and my gorgeous other-half, Katey. Keep it locked for more big tings to come! Next up is Grime Machine v18 at the Sunset Room, 14 October. Boom!

Danny Corn - Curiophilia

This one by Danny Corn is off the recent Frite Nite compilation, Surreal Estate. 'Curiophilia' is loaded with quality drum programming and a nice use of space. Eyes down kinda' vibes in this one! Also be sure to checkout some choice cuts from Eprom, Salva, DJG, and Wheez-ie on the same compilation. Grab Surreal Estate now on Frite Nite.

L-Vis 1990 - Neon Dreams

Really feeling the futuristic house vibes in this one. L-Vis 1990's 'Neon Dreams' is packed with minimal drum work, synth-driven melodies and lush pads. Check it out! The entire Neon Dreams album is available on iTunes now. Sorry about the lack of a decent audio clip; YouTube blocked the video and there's no SoundCloud bites.

Kahn - Like We Used To

This one came out a few months back, but it is definitely a heater. Layered vocals edits, infectious pads, and intricate drum programming make for a sweet late-night cut. Available now on Punch Drunk Records.

Sully - Let You

Some next-level future garage vibes from Sully. 'Let You' is loaded with sub bass, mesmerizing drum work, and a tight vocal sample. Definitely check this one out! Available now on Sully's Carrier release on Keysound Recordings.

Self Evident - Look In Your Eyes

Here's a recent cut off the recent Future of Bass Vol. 1 compilation put together by HxdB. 'Look In Your Eyes' is a forward-thinking dubstep cut from Vancouver-native, Self Evident. Purple vibes and an echoed out Alborosie vocal sample, paired with stripped-down drum work, makes for a solid and versatile tune. Available now on Gradient.

Distal - Mamanimal [Free Download]

So, so, so stoked to see this one as a free release. The original 'Mamanimal' clip has been up on SoundCloud for nearly a year and it's definitely been making its rounds among the Surefire and Frite Nite affiliated DJs. It's that well-rounded Distal sound with lush pads, future drum work, and that almost indescribable body-rockin' sensibility. Definitely grab this one! Download via XLR8R.

Instra:mental - No Future (Consequence Remix)

I'm a big fan of Instra:mental's original 'No Future' cut, as well as Skream's dubstep remix. Consequence takes another route entirely with a forward-thinking, glitchy, atmospheric drum and bass cut. Available now on NonPlus+ Records.

Guy Andrews - Your Notion

Some real future house vibes in this one. Checkout the drum work around 1:40. Guy Andrews is one to watch. The Your Notion EP is available on Discobelle Records.

Jamie xx - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix

Quality selection from the one like Jamie xx. If you don't know, now you know!

Norrit - Only Me and U

Really feeling the chilled-out vibes in this one from Kansas-based producer, Norrit. Available now on Palms Out Sounds.

Lunice - Glow

Here's the official video to Lunice's 'Glow'. Lush beats paired with some smokey lighting effects make for a good introduction to his One Hunnd EP. Available now on LuckyMe - check it.

Teebs - Moments

Some spacey summertime vibes from Teebs. 'Moments' features shuffling drums, interesting pad work, and a gorgeous video to boot. Check it out!

Salva - That Girl (Pharrell ft. Snoop Dogg) [Free Download]

Some free refix business from future bass don, Salva. 'That Girl' gets a solid rework with 808 juke drums, synth stabs, and some detuned pad work. Good ish. The entire Pop Massacre 2 LP is available for free from FoF Music.

Machinedrum - GBYE

Here's the official video for 'GBYE' off Machinedrum's recent Room(s) album. Available now on Planet Mu.

Prison Garde - Système Hermès [Free Download]

Via sub|division:

As Prison Garde, Squire has brought a gritty, tough sensibility to Vancouver’s dancefloors. His tunes have been receiving proper rinsage from a who’s who of North American club wreckers: Low Limit, Jacques Greene, Lunice, Monolithium among many others. Much of Prison Garde’s tunes are 808-driven, but his beats are far from traditional trap-rap clones. Phasing through multiple tempos, Prison Garde is capable of taking a d-flo from low-slung funk groove all the way to a dirty, sexed-up disco grind, all with original material. And now it’s all here, for FREE, including his slammin’ 808 edit of The Weeknd’s “What You Need”.
Download via MediaFire.

Kingdom - Take Me ft. Naomi Allen

Here's some forthcoming future r&b business from one of my favourite artists at the moment, Kingdom. I'm really feeling the summery smooth vocals from Naomi Allen (of Electrik Red) in this one. Available 26 July on Fool's Gold.

Cedaa - Dijital

Fresh off his recent Jasmin EP release on B.Yrslf Division, Cedaa presents a 40-minute mix of forward-thinking bass music. Featuring cuts from Brenmar, Clicks & Whistles, Distal, Kingdom, and more. Stoked to see 'Eastsiders' from Vancouver-locals and Lighta! crew members, Max Ulis and Self Evident, in this one. Get on it!

Krampfhaft - Spit Thunder

To be honest, I hadn't heard of Krampfhaft until I stumbled across his Spit Thunder EP release. Some interesting juke business coming out of the Netherlands. The title track reminds me a lot of Distal's style. Good use of vocal samples, phat low end, and some nice 808 drum work. Available now on Saturate Records.
