Much Respect

Big ups everyone that came out for the Downlink show at Sugar Nightclub last Saturday! I haven't had that much fun playing a set in a long time. Really stoked to see everyone feelin' the post-dubstep, funky, and juke sounds - especially the juke sounds! I ain't got no shoes on! Also a big ups to Jon Outsider, Downlink from Rottun Recordings, Lars from Innergroove, Longwalkshortdock, Mite from Embassy Recordings, and my gorgeous other-half, Katey. Keep it locked for more big tings to come! Next up is Grime Machine v18 at the Sunset Room, 14 October. Boom!

VEMF 2011 Recap

What an amazing weekend! I witnessed some amazing sets from Kastle, Egyptrixx, and a slew of great locals. Also had the pleasure of chatting with Kastle (thanks for the stickers) and DJ Klever. My mainstage set with the Dreadsteppas on Sunday went off without a hitch - coaxed the sun out of the clouds with some summery drum and bass. We've been receiving tons of positive feedback. So much love! I haven't felt this inspired in awhile. Big ups everyone for the support! Also, be sure to checkout the new Union Sound System website. I just put a total redesign into it. Big tings a'gwan!

Dear Dreamer Apparel

Rockin' some fresh swag from local streetwear outfit, Dear Dreamer Apparel. These guys are making some serious waves out here and have some new designs set to drop pretty quick. Everyone at Union Sound System is stoked to be working with them. Keep it locked for big things from both camps.

Late Nights

I found an old Vivitar 285HV flash and I've been shooting like crazy lately. It has quite a bit more power than my newer Olympus FL36 automatic flash. Studio gear and manual shooting all the way. Expect a few injections of photos now and then. I'll keep the heavy photo posting to my new Tumblr page - follow!

Da Left Coast

There's no place quite like the Pacific Northwest. The ocean keeps me sane - true story.

Late Nights

Can't stop, won't stop.

Building Up the Portfolio

Original pieces, cover-ups, and touch-ups. You can checkout more photos at the Feral Ink fanpage.

Blah

I am so bored and restless; I can't seem to get to sleep tonight. Life has been very positive lately, but I can feel melancholia creeping in as the summer wanes. I'm glad I have such an amazing community to rely on.

Speed

She needs some love, but damn does she goes fast.

Flesh and Ink

So I picked up an 8-wrap "V" tattoo machine from WWT, along with a power supply, needles, pigment, etc. What have I got myself into?

It Lives!

The new throttle cable works well, and I spray-bombed the pipes black. Iggy and I will have to see about eventually painting the tank and plastics black too. Anyways, for now it runs.

XS 400 Progress

So far I've replaced the front brake lever, topped up the brake fluid, tightened the kickstand, and changed the oil in my '82 Yamaha XS 400 Special. I picked up a set of handlebars from Victoria Motorcycle Salvage, but unfortunately the throttle cable broke after installing them. I had noticed the throttle pulling a bit when turning the old bars, but I didn't think it was that worn out. Anyways, the bike is out of commission until at least Wednesday when a new throttle cable comes in. It's definitely turning into a bit of a project, but it feels so good to have the freedom of the road. This part can't come soon enough --I want to get out of here! I still need to cut a new key and (eventually) clean the carburators out, but the throttle cable will get it running again. Anyways, here's a picture of the bike with new bars.

Wheels

First ride on my new baby (the blue '82 Yamaha XS 400 Special). I have to bleed the front brakes, tighten up some bolts, and cut a new key for it today. It could probably use an oil change too, but it runs!

Love and Anarchy

Touchups and fresh ink. Brrrap!

Brukinout

My first headlining show off the Island - tonight!

Mosh

Fuck that felt good - to be bruised and battered in the pit. It's definitely an interesting sense of camaraderie. Rape Revenge and Iskra stole the show for me. Need more punk shows!

I Can't Think Of An Appropriate Title

I am so restless sometimes. What are my priorities anymore?

Punk Film Fest

The punk rock film festival kicks off at Camas Books & Infoshop tonight. I won't be able to make the opening night due to exams, but I'll definitely be there for Thursday. Come by, support the infoshop, and watch some great films to boot!
